Jack Richards, professor in seinem 50 ist, hat offenbar verrückt geworden über die angebliche Entführung seiner Tochter von einem finsteren Kult. In Selbstmitleid zu schwelgen seit Jahren, beschließt er, Selbstmord zu Begehen. Jedoch, die Art und Weise, in der er beschließt, Selbstmord ist eine ganz Besondere: er lässt sich entführen von einer Sekte, deren Mitglieder behandeln ihn als Ihren "König" für ein Jahr (er ist gegeben, eine Burg, Konkubinen, Geschenke, etc...), und dann Mord ihm als eine Sühne für Ihre jährlichen Sünden.
