Die zwölfjährigen Jungen Ali, Kouka, Omar und Boubker leben als Straßenkinder im Hafen von Casablanca. Die Straße ist ihr Zuhause, und die Menschen, die hier leben, bilden ihre Familie. Hier zu überleben, ohne Ziel, ohne einen Ort, an den sie sich zurückziehen könnten, wird ihre tägliche Aufgabe. Ihre Freundschaft ist ihre einzige Chance und bildet das Band, das die Gang zusammenhält. Ali träumt davon, wegzugehen, Seemann zu werden und die Welt zu sehen. Doch das bleibt ein Traum - während einer Auseinandersetzung mit einer rivalisierenden Straßenbande wird er getötet. Seine Freunde könnten seine Leiche zurücklassen, doch sie beschließen, ihrem Freund ein königliches Begräbnis zu verschaffen. Und so machen sie sich auf, die Insel mit den zwei Sonnen zu finden, von der Ali immer geträumt hat.
