Nur die Summe von einer halben Million Kronen kann noch verhindern, dass das Haus von Eigils Eltern abgerissen wird. Eigil und sein karottenähnlicher Freund Snooky beschließen, das Geld auf eigene Faust zu verdienen. Sie treten im Zirkus auf und Snooky wird die Attraktion. Aber es gibt bald Ärger, denn der Zirkusdirektor will die beiden um ihren Lohn betrügen. Während sie sich nach Kopenhagen absetzen, sucht der Nachbar Herr Pflaume verzweifelt nach den Ausreißern, da er mit Snooky in einer Fernsehshow auftreten will.
