Der "Rand der Stadt" bedeutet Menidi, einem Armen Vorort am Rande der pulsierenden Athen (die Stadt). Menidi birgt viele Cosssack Griechen. Sie werden auch als "pontios", ethnische Griechen, die vom Schwarzen Meer verstreut durch die ex-Südlichen Sowjetunion in der Stalin-ära. Die "pontios" wieder zu Griechenland en masse nach dem Untergang der UdSSR. Die Eltern sprechen meist Griechisch, aber die teenager-Kinder sprechen ein hybrid-Russisch-griechischen Sprache das spiegelt Ihren Mangel an Identität und Marginalisierung. Die teenager Marginalisierung führt Sie zu den Kern des Films Thema: das Leben von Kleinkriminalität und prostitution, die diese auf der zweiten oder Dritten Klasse der Griechen führen. Ihre Kameradschaft, wie Sie spotten jeder andere', die sich in Homosexualität, Ihre sexuelle und kriminelle Ausbeutung durch die reichen Griechen, die Ihre eigene Ausbeutung von Prostituierten, die sexuelle und moralische Ambiguität führen alle für den film zu definieren.
