Der 70-jährige Walliser Bergbauer Adrien schlägt seinen Freunden eine Reise mit der Transsibirischen Eisenbahn vor. Die wortkargen Bergler steigen zwar in den Zug ein, aber sie lassen nie wirklich los. Ohne Jasskarten und Weisswein geht da gar nichts. Bis nach Peking kommt nur Adrien: Für den starrköpfigen Bauern wird die lange Reise letzten Endes eine Reise zu sich selbst, zu den eigenen Gefühlen.
