Eine kleine Wüste Stadt in West-Australien ist die Szene, in der mehrere Liebesaffären in diesem romantischen drama. Vierzig-jährige Stella (Wendy Hughes) arbeitet mit Ihrem Vater hotel und bar. Sie erhält jährlich Neue Jahr Heiratsanträge von rodeo rider Andy Ford (John Hargreaves), die Gespräche selbst zu Fragen, Ihr ein weiteres mal. Stella ' s Vater Billy (Norman Kaye) ist ein ehemaliger cricket-star, dessen Karriere endete früh, wenn er beteiligt war, in einen sex-Skandal.
