Wieder gerät der vermeintliche Superagent "Der große Blonde mit dem schwarzen Schuh" zwischen die Fronten der rivalisierenden Geheimdienste: Als ernsthafte Zweifel an der Identität des internationalen Superagenten - im wahren Leben der zerstreute Violinist François Perrin - aufkommen, beginnt ein turbulentes und gefährliches Verwirrspiel: Der hartnäckige und ehrgeizige Leutnant Cambrai wird beauftragt, den mysteriösen Tod Milans aufzuklären, und dafür ist ihm jedes Mittel recht. Cambrai verdächtigt prompt den gefährlichen Oberst Toulouse, den er zur Strecke bringen möchte, koste es, was es wolle. Währenddessen kehrt der vermeintliche Superagent "Der große Blonde" mit seiner Angebeteten - der Agentin Christine - aus Rio zurück, was für Oberst Toulouse ein ernst zu nehmendes Problem darstellt: Toulouse kidnappt Christine und die Jagd beginnt von neuem...
