Die neunjährige Molly ist ein tapferes Mädchen. Sie hat zwar vor kurzem ihre Mutter verloren, aber gemeinsam mit Großvater Cappy und ihrem Vater Paul will sie das Leben meistern. Immerhin hat sie ja noch ihre Freunde und ihren geliebten Fluss. An dem ist sie aufgewachsen und hier hat sie schon die tollsten Abenteuer erlebt. Als die Familie aber in Geldnöte kommt, sieht Paul nur noch einen Ausweg. Er muss das Haus verkaufen und wegziehen. Das kann Molly unter keinen Umständen zulassen! Früher hat ihre Mutter ihr immer die spannendsten Geschichten von einem Schatz am Fluss erzählt und für Molly ist das die Lösung. Gemeinsam mit ihren Freunden begibt sie sich auf eine spannende Schatzsuche. Werden die mutigen Kinder Erfolg haben und Mollys Zuhause retten?
