Im Hafen von Maizuru wird ein verdächtiges Schiff entdeckt – vollgepackt mit Bomben. Am selben Ort freuen sich Conan und seine Freunde darauf, an Bord eines AEGIS-Kriegsschiffes zu gehen, um dort einen Tag lang öffentliche Manöver mitzuverfolgen. Der Alltag auf dem Zerstörer gestaltet sich allerdings eher langweilig – bis plötzlich ein seltsames Geräusch zu hören ist und ein unbekanntes Objekt auf dem Radar auftaucht. Conan bemerkt, dass das nicht zum Plan gehört, denn auch einige Gäste und Crewmitglieder verhalten sich verdächtig. Als im Filter des Pumpensystems zudem ein abgetrennter Arm gefunden wird, beginnt Conan mithilfe von Heiji Hattori zu ermitteln. Tatsächlich taucht auch bald die passende Leiche ohne Arm auf.
