Seit Anfang des Jahres 2014 begleitet ein Kamerateam der BBC exklusiv ein bedeutendes paläontologisches Ereignis: die Entdeckung der größten Titanosaurierart, die je die Erde bevölkert hat. Alles begann mit dem Fund eines Oberschenkelknochens von bis dahin unerreichter Größe an einem geheim gehaltenen Ort in Argentinien. In umfangreichen Grabungen förderten die Paläontologen schließlich knapp 200 Knochenreste einer über 100 Millionen Jahre alten Saurierart zutage. Dann begannen zwei Jahre währende Rekonstruktionsarbeiten. In der von David Attenborough präsentierten Dokumentation wird gezeigt, wie die Fundstücke sorgfältig geborgen, bestimmt und zu einem riesigen Geschöpf zusammengesetzt werden, das mit mehr als 40 Meter Länge tatsächlich das größte bisher entdeckte Tier der Erde ist.
