Vor Generationen wurde die Familie Drake mit einem Fluch belegt, als sie ein grausames Blutbad an einem Indianerstamm am Amazonas anrichteten, wo nur der Medizinmann entkam. Dr. Emil Zurich, ein alter Freund der Familie Drake und Experte für südamerikanische Kulturen, wird zu Rate gezogen. Kurz darauf wird auf Jonathan Drake ein Mordanschlag verübt.
