Dire Straits: Thank You Australia and New Zealand (1986) Kostenlos Anschauen
1985 begaben sich Dire Straits auf eine Welt-Tournee von beispiellosem Ausmaß. Zur Promotion ihres Hit-Albums „Brothers in Arms" umfasste die Tournee dreizehn Auftritte in der Wembley Arena (mit Unterstützung von Eric Clapton) und einen kurzen Abstecher zum Live Aid (mit Sting), bevor sie im Frühjahr 1986 in Australien endete. Den Abschluss bildeten 21 Abende im Sydney Entertainment Center, die jeden Abend ausverkauft waren, und eine letzte Show am 26. April. Mit einer einmaligen Calypso-Version von „So Far Away" und einer improvisierten Version der australischen Volkshymne „Waltzing Matilda" (bei der das gesamte Stadion mitsang) war dies wahrhaftig eine Show für die Ewigkeit. Diese Show repräsentiert eine Band in ihrer Bestform, eine Band, die die Kunst des Übergangs von strukturierten Strophen-/Refrain-Teilen zu Soli und zurück perfektioniert hat und das Publikum bei jedem einzelnen Song auf eine emotionale und wunderschöne Reise mitnimmt.
