Am 22. November des Jahres 2010 treffen zehn Langstreckenraketen das japanische Festland. Dieser, später als der „Sorglose Montag" in die Geschichte eingehende und vorher noch nie da gewesene, terroristische Akt der Zerstörung sollte bald vergessen werden. Denn scheinbar kostete dieser keine Opfer unter der Bevölkerung. Drei Monate später... Saki Morimi ist eine junge Frau welche sich zurzeit auf der Abschlussreise in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika befindet. Vor dem Weißen Haus in Washington DC stehend, ereilt sie plötzlich Ärger, vor welchem sie nur dank dem unerwarteten Eingreifen eines ihrer Landsmänner bewahrt wird. Der Mann, welcher sich ihr als Akira Takizawa vorstellt, ist für sie ein Mysterium. Er scheint sein Gedächtnis verloren zu haben und ist obendrein, bis auf die Waffe in der einen und das Handy in der anderen Hand, splitterfasernackt. Noch verdächtiger ist der Betrag, welcher sich auf dem Handy befindet: 8,2 Milliarden Yen in digitaler Währung.
