Edgar Kennedy

Edgar Livingston Kennedy (April 26, 1890 – 9. November 1948) war eine US-amerikanische Comedy-film Charakter Schauspieler, bekannt als "Slow Burn". Ein slow burn ist eine entnervte Gesichtsausdruck, durchgeführt, die sehr bewusst; Kennedy verschönert diese durch reiben mit der hand über seinen kahlen Kopf und in seinem Gesicht, in einem Versuch zu halten sein Temperament. Kennedy ist am besten bekannt für eine kleine Rolle als eine Limonade-Verkäufer in den Marx-Brothers-film Duck Soup, wie auch für die vielen Hal Roach Filme er erschien in.

Kennedy wurde so identifiziert mit frustration, die sich praktisch in jedem studio angeheuert, ihn zu spielen Hitzköpfe. Er spielte oft dumme cops, Detektive und sogar ein Gefängnis warden; manchmal war er mürrisch bewegte Mann, LKW-Fahrer oder ein blue-collar-Arbeiter. Sein Charakter in der Regel verloren sein Temperament, mindestens einmal. In Diplomaniacs, Kennedy den Vorsitz über ein internationales tribunal, wo Wheeler & Woolsey etwas tun wollen Frieden in der Welt. "Gut, ya kann nicht alles über es hier", schreit Kennedy, "das ist eine Friedens-Konferenz!"
