Cowboy star Buck Jones sein Regiedebüt mit dem Universal-western, Für den Service. Jones geworfen, als Indian scout Buck O'Bryan, versucht sein bestes, um den Frieden zwischen den Indianern und Regierung Außenposten. O'Bryan wird ersetzt durch George Murphy (Clifford Jones), der Sohn der kommandierende Offizier, Captain Murphy (Edward Keane). Offensichtlich unqualifiziert für seinen job, Murphy beweist sich selbst einen Feigling und Schwächling, zwingt O'Bryan zu übernehmen, wenn die Festung belagert von outlaw Bruce Howard (Fred Kohler) und seine Bande.
