Scope ist Gefangener auf einer riesigen Raumstation und wird wie alle seine Mitgefangenen ausgewählt, sich „freiwillig" für die Erforschung ferner Planeten zu melden. Als er auf dem Planeten Australia 458 landet, wird er wie ein Held empfangen, mit so viel Sex, Alkohol und Gewalt, wie ein Mann nur ertragen kann. Doch als seine neuen Wächter ihn zu noch abscheulicheren und verabscheuungswürdigeren Taten drängen, muss Scope feststellen, dass seine Freiheit einen hohen Preis hat: seinen eigenen gewaltsamen Tod, der zur Unterhaltung der Bewohner von Australia 458 live übertragen wird.
