George Irving

George Irving

George Henry Irving (5. Oktober 1874 – 11. September 1961) war ein US-amerikanischer Filmschauspieler und Regisseur. Irving begann seine Karriere als Theater-Schauspieler.

Im Jahre 1914 kam er nach Hollywood und spielte in über 250 Filmen von 1914 bis 1948. Irving war zunächst ein Schauspieler und Regisseur und inszenierte über 35 Stummfilmen. Er wechselte exklusiv zu handeln, in die Mitte der 1920er Jahre und wurde ein Charakter Schauspieler, die erst in den späteren 1940er-Jahren. Er in der Regel gespielt seriösen und Heck Personen der Behörde in Nebenrollen. Irving ist vielleicht am besten bekannt für seine Rolle als Robert Wentworth in Coquette (1929), und als der Anwalt Alexander Peabody in Bringing Up Baby (1938).

George Irving beendete seine erfolgreiche Karriere mit TV-Rollen in den 1950er Jahren.
