Der rosarote Panther bekommt einen job als Kellner in einem chinesischen restaurant, wo das Abendessen Bestellungen werden gerichtet an den chef schlagen auf einen gong, in einer bestimmten Weise. Das restaurant besitzt auch eine große Sammlung von Platten und Gläser, eher von der etwas Spitzen Nase, der Mann. Der gong Streiks immer wieder zerbrechen die fragilen Teller und Gläser schließlich macht den Mann so wütend, dass er flippt aus und geht nach einer tropischen Insel, in der Hoffnung zu finden etwas Ruhe und Frieden.
