Die Shinsengumi kämpfen einen verzweifelten Kampf gegen die neue Regierung. Hijikata lässt Chizuru in Edo zurück und bricht alleine nach Aizu auf, wofür er Kritik von seinen Kameraden einstecken muss. In einem Brief teilt er Chizuru mit, dass sie sich dringend in Sicherheit bringen soll. Um das eigene Überleben zu sichern, greifen immer mehr Kämpfer der Shinsengumi zum Ochi-Wasser, das ihnen die übernatürlichen Kräfte eines "Rasetsu" verleiht, aber auch gefährlich ist. Chizuru beschließt, ihrem Herzen zu folgen, und macht sich mit Kazama auf den Weg zu Hijikata. Auf der Reise dorthin, erfährt sie mehr über den Clan der Yukimura, dem sie entstammt. Als auch Chizuru in Aizu ankommt, kann sie endlich Hijikata ihre wahren Gefühle gestehen und es kommt zum Zweikampf zwischen Kazama und Hijikata.
