Ein Arbeiter, der nur noch wenige Monate zu leben hat, zieht sich in die Wildnis zurück, wird aber dort durch einen Indianer geheilt. Er rettet die Wildnis vor der Zerstörung durch weiße Geschäftemacher und schafft mit Unterstützung der Regierung den ersten Nationalpark der USA. Ein reichlich sentimental aufbereiteter, in der Handlungsentwicklung unglaubwürdiger Film, der allenfalls geringen Unterhaltungsansprüchen gerecht wird.
