Die Chinesische Mauer aus der Vogelperspektive: Von Osten nach Westen überfliegt der geschichtsbegeisterte Abenteurer William Lindesay das legendäre Bauwerk. Der Brite lebt seit fast 30 Jahren in China und gilt als ausgewiesener Kenner der Mauer und Experte für altchinesische Geschichte. Die Reise beginnt am Alten Drachenkopf in der Provinz Hebei. Hier trifft die Chinesische Mauer auf das Meer und verläuft dann westlich bis in die Provinz Gansu fort. William Lindesay ist in die Mauer verliebt, seit er sie als Kind in einem englischen Schulatlas entdeckt hat. 1987 wanderte er als erster Ausländer von einem Ende zum anderen der Mauer. Er drehte mehrere Dokumentarfilme über das legendäre Bauwerk, insbesondere für National Geographic. Nach 27 Jahren China-Aufenthalt verwirklichte er letztes Jahr einen Traum und filmte die gesamte Mauer aus der Vogelperspektive.
