Nach 20 Jahren Militärdienst wird David aus der Armee entlassen und versucht, sich ein neues ziviles Leben aufzubauen. Er ist davon überzeugt, dass er wie viele seiner Freunde nach der Zeit beim Militär eine Position im Management irgendeines Unternehmens finden wird. Doch David hat Schwierigkeiten, sich dem Klima und dem Tempo des "neuen Israel" anzupassen. Er sieht sich plötzlich mit einer konkurrenzbetonten Kultur konfrontiert, die geradezu besessen von Geld und Erfolg ist. Der Abschied von der Truppe ist zugleich auch eine Rückkehr zu seiner Familie, von der er sich in den langen Jahren der häufigen Abwesenheit entfremdet hat.
