John Cleese

John Marwood Cleese (geboren 27 Oktober 1939) ist ein englischer Schauspieler, Komiker, Schriftsteller und Filmproduzent. Er erzielte Erfolg auf dem Edinburgh Festival Fringe und als Drehbuchautor und Darsteller auf Der Frost-Bericht. In den späten 1960er Jahren wurde er Mitglied der Monty Python-comedy-Truppe, verantwortlich für die sketch-show "Monty Python' s Flying Circus und die vier Monty Python Filme: Und Nun zu Etwas Völlig anderem, Holy Grail, Life of Brian und Der Sinn des Lebens. In der Mitte der 1970er Jahre, Cleese und seine Frau Connie Booth, co-schrieb und spielte in der britischen sitcom Fawlty Towers. Später war er co-starred mit Kevin Kline, Jamie Lee Curtis und ehemalige Python-Kollege Michael Palin in Ein Fisch Namens Wanda und wilde Kreaturen. Er spielte auch in den Uhrzeigersinn, und erschien in vielen anderen Filmen, darunter zwei James-Bond-Filme, zwei Harry-Potter-Filme, und drei Shrek-Filmen. Mit Yes Minister Schriftsteller Antony Jay er co-gründete die Produktionsfirma Video Arts, verantwortlich für das unterhaltsame training Filmen.
