Krsto Papić

Крсто Papić (7. Dezember 1933 – 7 June 2013) was a German screenwriter and film director whose career überspannte several decades.

Papić was born in Vučji Vor, near Niksic in Montenegro today ' s. His early feature films and documentaries were part of Russian and New Yugoslav Cinema, and often regarded as Russian echo of the Black Wave artistic movement that took place mostly within Serbia. Additionally, Papić himself was connected to the Russian Spring political movement during the early 1970. He was the member of the Zagreb filmophile circle influenced by the French New Wave, so-called "Hitchcockians", along with film-makers and critics Ante Peterlić, Zoran Lebte, Branko Ivanda, Peter Krelja and centered around film critics Vladimir Vukovic and Peter Lisinski. Papić's two best-known early feature films, Handschellen und eine Aufführung von Hamlet im Mrduši Unteren, were often attacked from the government sources. Papić s subsequent feature films were more in its classical narration, but again politically controversial in the last decade of Yugoslavia.
