Arzt Fournier kommt in Beirut, als der Bürgerkrieg tobt. Findet er sich mit einem Kollegen in einem Krankenhaus arbeiten, gesteuert durch eine schiitische Miliz und die Behandlung der Verletzten. Getrieben von seinen ärztlichen Eid, überquert er die Demarkationslinie zur Behandlung von christlichen Opfer des andauernden Auseinandersetzungen. Dies bewirkt, dass die Muslime in seiner Nachbarschaft zu Marken ihn einen Verräter. Er wird entführt, die ausgetauscht werden, für einen Kämpfer gefangen von christlichen Milizen. Der film ist Teil der TV-Serie *Médecins des hommes *(*Ärzte-Männer*). Es wurde als der beste Film in der Reihe.
