Polizei-captain Emma Thélier is on holiday at her mother 's-in-the-Charente-Maritime, in der region when, while jogging in the forest, she discovers a man' s corpse. Because of her knowledge of the area and the initial findings, Emma is put in charge of the investigation. But she has to work with the gendarm captain Adrian Klévec, recently transferred here and with whom she spent the previous night.
