Die erfolglose Schauspielerin Nadine hält sich mit dem Dreh von billigen Pornofilmen über Wasser. Sie macht die Bekanntschaft des Fotografen Servais Mont. Dieser hat Schulden bei dem Kredithai Mazelli - um ihn abzubezahlen, macht er angewidert Sexfotos. Servais beschließt, Nadine zu helfen und verschafft ihr über den Schauspieler Zimmer und den Regisseur Messala eine Rolle in der Theateraufführung „Richard III.". Um die Produktion zu finanzieren, bleibt ihm allerdings nichts anderes übrig, als sich erneut Geld von Mazelli zu leihen. Nadine ist derweil hin- und hergerissen zwischen Servais, in den sie sich verliebt, und ihrem Ehemann Jacques, dem sie sich moralisch verpflichtet fühlt...
