The unsuccessful actor Willi Gimmel survived as a prompter at the theater on water. When he loses his job, he is promptly hired by a department store as "actors". He is said to mimic the lightning rod for angry customers so that they get the impression that the business would take their complaint seriously. Henceforth Willi slips from one panel to the next.
