Zeitgleich zur Veröffentlichung des Albums "Off The Ground" 1993 startete Paul McCartney seine Welttournee "Paul is Live - on the new World Tour". Er tourte u.a. durch Australien, Kanada, USA, Japan, Europa, Brasilien und Argentinien. Mit dieser Tour füllte er als erster Musikkünstler in der Geschichte ein Stadion in Rio mit 184.000 Fans und verkaufte 20.000 Tickets für zwei weitere Stadien in nur 8 Minuten. Seit dem Hit "Yesterday" wurde in den USA 6 Millionen Mal im Radio gespielt und somit zum "Most-Played"-Song im Radio. Zum Gedenken an diese fantastische Tournee veröffentlichte Sir Paul McCartney das Live-Album "Paul is Live", welches in Australien und in den USA aufgenommen wurde. Es war die letzte Tour die er mit seiner ersten Frau Linda McCartney gemacht hat. Die ambitionierte Tierschützerin, Fotografin und talentierte Musikerin starb 5 Jahre später in Folge einer Brustkrebserkrankung. Linda McCartney hat nach wie vor eine große Fangemeinde weltweit.
