Nach der langen „A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" Tour, die am 18.7.1989 in Marseille beendet wurde, kam es total unerwartet, als die Band „nur" knapp 12 Monate danach wieder aktiv wurde. Für ihren Auftritt hatten sie sich einige Überraschungen einfallen lassen. So traten als Gäste auf: Sam Brown und ihre Mutter Vicky, die für Pink Floyd in den 70er gesungen hatte. Dass auch Clare Torry mit dabei war, das war schon eine große Überraschung. Sie wagte sich erneut an „The Great Gig In The Sky". Der langjährige Floyd-Kollaborateur Michael Kamen kam endlich zu seinem Auftritt und spielte Keyboards bei „Comfortably Numb". Das Bild des Knebworth Konzertes von Pink Floyd wirkt etwas detailreicher, allerdings auch nervöser als das Venedig-Konzert, liegt aber sonst auf ähnlichem Niveau. Audioseitig klingt Knebworth deutlich erwachsener als Venedig.
