Auf seiner Reise durch die Einall-Region macht Ash mit seinen Freunden Lilia und Benny Halt in Eindoak Town, einem Ort, in dessen Mitte ein Schloss mit Namen Schwert des Tieflandes liegt. Die drei Trainer stellen sich dem alljährlichen Wettkampf der Stadt, bei dem Ash dank der unerwarteten Hilfe des Mysteriösen Pokémon Victini den Sieg davonträgt! Zwischen Victini und dem Ort besteht nämlich, wie sich später herausstellt, eine besondere Verbindung… Vor langer Zeit wachte das Schloss über die Geschicke des Königreiches des Tieflandes, dessen Untertanen unter einem besonderen Schutz standen, der dem Band der Freundschaft zwischen Victini und dem König geschuldet war. Doch jenes Königreich ist heute nicht mehr als eine wehmütige Erinnerung an vergangene Tage. Damon, ein Nachkomme des Stammes des Tieflandes, der es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat, dem verlorenen Königreich mit der Hilfe von Morbitesse wieder zu Ruhm und Glanz zu verhelfen.
