Mike, Mitte 30 ist Musiker und leidet genau wie sein Freund Tony an den Auswirkungen diverser Beziehungskrisen. Helen und Moira gehören beide zur rätselhaften Gattung Frau, die Mike und Tony offensichtlich nur dann verstehen, wenn sie mehrere Promille Hochprozentiges intus haben. Eine Erkenntnis, zu der die zwei Freunde mit schöner Regelmäßigkeit kommen - nämlich immer dann, wenn sie Streß mit ihren Liebsten haben. Als hätte Mike nicht schon genug Probleme, so läßt er sich mit der attraktiven Sara auf eine Beziehung ein. Worauf jedoch Helen sehr eifersüchtig reagiert und ihren Mike dann doch nicht ganz kampflos aufgeben will. Mike's Emotions-Wirrwarr erfährt noch eine Steigerung, als er sich plötzlich zwischen Sara und Helen entscheiden muß.
