Giuseppe M. Gaudino sein Debüt als Regisseur mit diesem experimentellen film-portrait Kontrast zu dem antiken römischen Reich mit Armut im heutigen Neapel. Der film der Erzähler führt in die Antike Stadt Pozzuloi, nach Hause zu Nero seine Mutter Agrippina, die Sibylle von Cumae, und christliche Märtyrer, Artema. Dieses historische drama ist eng mit der modernen Geschichte einer von Armut geplagten Familie, gezwungen durch Erdbeben während der 70er zu bewegen, um dem Land ein verheerender Schlag für die enge Familie. Nach einer 1997 von Venedig-Film-Festival-screening auf 125 Minuten, die Filmemacher angekündigt, Ihre Pläne neu zu Bearbeiten, um eine kürzere Laufzeit.
