Ein seltsamer Komet streift beinahe die Erde. Seine starke Anziehungskraft löst auf der Erde Vulkanausbrüche und Erdbeben aus. Die Naturkatastrophen veranlassen die Erdbewohner zur Flucht ins All. Ihr Planet degeneriert in den Zustand prähistorischer Zeiten. Dino- und Prontosaurier, längst totgeglaubt, übernehmen die Herrschaft. Doch plötzlich schlägt das Klima um; die Dinosaurier sind dem Tode geweiht. Da entschließen sich einige mutige Menschen, auf ihren Heimatplaneten zurückzukehren, um die Saurier umzuquartieren. Wird ihnen die schwierige Aufgabe gelingen?
