2199 AD. Yamato versucht hinter sich zu lassen, der Großen Magellanschen Wolke, Galaxie nach Erhalt einer Cosmo-Reverse-System an seinem Bestimmungsort, Iscandar. Doch plötzlich trifft Sie auf eine mysteriöse Gruppe am Rand der Großen Magellanschen Wolke. Die crew findet heraus, dass die Gruppe heißt die Gatlantis, und dass seine Führungskraft die Gutaba expeditionary force commander, der nennt sich Goran Dagam des Donners. Der Kommandant verlangt, dass Yamato werden ihm übergeben. Yamato wollte sich beeilen, auf die Erde, entgeht dem Getümmel. Aber Yamato angegriffen wird von einem verheerenden Strahl-Waffe namens die Flamme Direkten Angriff Kanone zu transzendieren Raum. Yamato ist in der Lage, sich zurückzuziehen, aber endet immer verloren und findet sich in einer seltsam farbigen unregelmäßige dimension.
