Rousseaus erste full-length-feature und eine der besten Dokumentationen/experimental-Filme der letzten Jahrzehnte, gleichmäßig gewölbt, von Robert Bresson, Michael Snow und Jean-Marie Straub (, wer angerufen hat Rousseau eine der drei besten arbeiten Künstler im modernen Europa). Wieder schwer Orten gespielt, gegen das treiben Klänge aus unsichtbaren Seiten über das Bild; die Bilder und Töne, die wiederholt werden, werden Beugungen der jeweils anderen. Aber dieses mal gibt es historische Nuancen; Rousseau film, wie Straub ist, erfolgt in einer Art meta-Geschichte als Zeichen und Antike Stätten werden Produkte von außerhalb Licht und Schatten.
