So einen wie Nepomuk hat sich der zehnjährige Ulf schon immer gewünscht! Der schwarze herrenlose Neufundländer läuft ihm einfach eines Tages zu. Die Freude der Eltern über den Familienzuwachs hält sich dagegen sehr in Grenzen. So ein großes Haustier hat in einer Neubauwohnung nichts zu suchen. Kurz entschlossen geben sie Nepomuk ins Tierheim. Das will Ulf nicht zulassen und versucht gemeinsam mit seiner Freundin Sabine und dem schrulligen Kleingärtner Oscar eine Lösung zu finden.
