Die Handlung befasst sich mit den Entwicklungen in einem alten dekadenten Dorf, nachdem ein fremder kommt in den alten Bahnhof, ein Ereignis in sich selbst. Die Musik von der oboe, dem Musiker, instrument, verändert das Leben aller beteiligten, und das kleine Dorf selbst wird für immer geändert werden, durch den Klang der oboe.
