Der Deutsche illusionist Dirk Ohm kommt in Grong in einem ländlichen Teil von Norwegen auf einem eiskalten Wintertag, und verwickelt sich in einen Fall, der auf der Suche nach einer verschwundenen Frau, in die er sich verliebt. Der film erzählt eine fiktive Geschichte über die letzten Tage des real-illusionist Dirk Ohm, die auf mysteriöse Weise verschwand, sich in Grong in 2003. Die Geschichte ist inspiriert von dem, was hätte geschehen können, bevor er verloren ging, und die Frage, was ist illusion, und was nicht.
