Die Geschichte des Films dreht sich um das Epos von Scheich Bouamama, einer der Führer des nationalen Widerstandes in Algerien während der französischen Kolonialzeit. Die Veranstaltungen finden statt im südwestlichen Algerien. Der film erzählt auch über die verschiedenen Stadien des Widerstandes, vor allem über die Aufstände des Algerischen Volkes, nämlich den "Kampf der Söhne des Sidi Scheich Bouamama", in dem der französische General Leuti ernannt wurde, um zu versuchen, zu unterdrücken und zu Ende dieser Widerstand.
