Eine Maus fakes Blindheit und spielt seine Geige; er kehrt nach Hause zurück, wo es offensichtlich wird er Reich. Der Zöllner kommt, und zieht er sich die verschiedenen Hebel und drückt die Knöpfe an seinem Haus Aussehen wie eine Bretterbude. Der Zöllner kann nicht ihn zu fangen. Eine Katze sieht und versucht Hetze eine Falle mit einer Goldmünze; das nicht, aber eine goldene Krone auf dem zahn lockt die Maus in. Oder tut es das? Die Maus erzählt diese Geschichte seinen Enkeln sieht seltsam vertraut...
