Die Insel Saint Matthews ist ein 16mm-film über den Verlust der Familie, die Geschichte in der form Erbstücke und Fotos. Vor Jahren Filmemacher Kevin Jerome Everson, fragte seine Tante über alte Familienfotos. Ihre Antwort-"wir verloren in der Flut" war der Auslöser für diesen film, ein Gedicht und ode an die Bürger von Westport, einer Gemeinde westlich von Columbus, Mississippi, und die direkten und schrägen überreste des 1973 Flut der Tombigbee River. Szenarien dargestellt, gehören ein Wasser-Skifahrer auf den Tombigbee; ein Fluss, eine Taufe; ein Gespräch mit einem Versicherungsvertreter über Hochwasser-Berichterstattung; den Kontrollraum der Schleuse und Damm; der Parkplatz einer Kirche, das läuten der St. Matthews bell.
