Nach angeklagt zu werden, fälschlich eines Diebstahls, einer leicht verwirrten Diener rennt Weg, um die Stadt tragen, als seine einzige wirkliche Besitz einer Axt, die er behauptet zu haben, tötete ein tiger mit. Er nimmt das Leben unter Indiens Scharen von der Stadt lebende Obdachlose, und für eine kleine Weile, fast eine anständige Zeit. Er hat eine Freundin und ein guter Freund, und gelangt durch betteln und Gelegenheitsarbeiten.
