In einem Londoner Hotel wird ein Mann tot aufgefunden. Das Messer steckt noch fest in der Brust des Opfers, in der Jackentasche findet Inspektor Perkins merkwürdigerweise ein Glasauge. Kurt darauf geschieht ein zweiter, rätselhafter Mord: Eine stadtbekannte Tänzerin des Las Vegas Girls, die im Londoner Odeon-Theater auftreten, wird vergiftet. Gibt es einen Zusammenhang zwischen der hübschen Tänzerin und dem Hotelgast? Inspektor Perkins und seine Kollegen stehen unter Zeitdruck. Der "Mann mit dem Glasauge" schlägt immer wieder tödlich zu. Eine erste Spur führt Scotland Yard in einen Billardclub, wo man als Eintrittsberechtigung ein Glasauge vorweisen muss...
