An einem unheimlichen See gibt es immer wieder mysteriöse Zwischenfälle, bei denen Menschen spurlos in Tiefen des dunklen Gewässers verschwinden. Niemand kann ahnen, dass für diese Todesfälle ein uraltes Wesen verantwortlich ist: Eine blutrünstige Meerjungfrau, die so gar nicht dem gewöhnlichen Bild dieser Kreaturen entspricht. Eines Tages verliebt diese sich jedoch in einen jungen Mann und verschleppt ihn in ihr unter der Wasseroberfläche liegendes Königreich. Nur eine Woche bleibt der Verlobten des Vermissten daraufhin, ihn aufzuspüren und aus den Fängen der Monster-Meerjungfrau zu befreien...
