'Zandvoort in Aufruhr! Am Samstag morgen um etwa 10 Uhr, bei schönem Wetter und ruhiger See, ein Franzose saß in einem strandkorb, um den Blick auf die herrliche Aussicht auf das Meer bietet immer, bis er langsam begann zu fallen schlafend', So beginnt ein Bericht in der 'Zandvoortsche Courant" von 25. Juli 1905. Der Artikel wird erläutert, wie der Mann war, vor der nahenden Flut, und – zum Erstaunen des Publikums – zog seine Hose, um zu verhindern, ruiniert vom Salzwasser. Beim Versuch zu entkommen, der Polizist, hatte, Eilte zu der Szene, springt er in einem vorbeifahrenden Auto, und versteckt sich in einem kleinen Umkleidekabinen. Schließlich wird er von der Polizei geschnappt. Begleitet von einer band und einer großen Menschenmenge, er ist eskortiert zu der Polizei-station.
