1939: Rom steht am Rande des zweiten Weltkriegs. Inmitten dieser politischen und sozialen Spannungen der berühmte Produzent Davide Rieta macht einen großen film. Die beiden Hauptdarsteller, die Deutsche Frau Kristina Baumgarten und den Briten James Clavel ass jede andere' erste Antagonismus und schließlich fallen in der Liebe.
