Es ist ein künstlerischer Dokumentarfilm Rückblick auf die mehr als dreißig Jahre hat sich die band schon, aber anstatt sich auf seine Geschichte liegt der Schwerpunkt auf den Konflikt zwischen kreativer Freiheit und Totalitarismus. Obwohl Die Plastic People nie aufgerufen, sich selbst eine politische protest-Gruppe, Sie wurde zu einem der Symbole des Widerstandes gegen das Kommunistische regime in der Tschechoslowakei in den 1970er und 80er Jahren. Ihre Verhaftung führte zu einem internationalen aufschrei im Bereich der Kultur und bei der Lancierung der Charta 77 in der Tschechoslowakei.
