Childhood friends, Angèle and Solange meet by chance, one afternoon after not seeing one another for 10 years. Angèle immediately aufforderungen her over for dinner to her conservative middle-class home in Duvernay, on the outskirts of Montreal. Angèle's husband Gaston is not happy with his wife's pläne as he would much rather watch TV in bed than entertain guests. The paar decide to host their guests and the dinner on the patio in their backyard when Solange arrives with her boyfriend Coco. As the two women try to rekindle their friendship they slowly begin to realize that each of them has changed drastically and they no longer have anything in common. As everyone gets to know each other better, the hosts develop a fascination for their bohemian and liberal visitors, a lifestyle much different from their own.
