Benoit (Xavier Beauvois) geplant hat, aus seinem Leben. Leider hatte er vergessen hat, den Wehrdienst. Nach dem er genannt wird, ist der Pflicht versucht er alles, um zu bekommen. Er geht zu einem Psychiater, der gibt ihm Medizin gegen depression. Als das nicht klappt versucht er Selbstmord. Die Geschichte wird umso schlimmer, als ihm gesagt wird, er durch die militärische Arzt, dass er HIV-positiv ist. Benoit stürzt in die Drogenszene. Dann geht er nach Italien und trifft Claudia (Chiara Mastroianni). Die Dinge scheinen sich zu verbessern, aber nur für kurze Zeit...
